Ateneo de Zamboanga Senior High School by IT Monsters

Ateneo de Zamboanga boasts a rich history dating back to 1912 when it was originally known as Escuela Catolica. It was a parochial school run by Spanish Jesuits and was only renamed as ADZu in 1916. The school’s logo has always been iconic, proudly showcasing its Jesuit history.

With the introduction of the K12 curriculum in the Philippines, the Senior High School also developed its own distinct design language. This year, a refresh was undertaken by an up-and-coming studio, IT Monsters, based in the same region.

The rebranding initiative marks a new chapter in the school’s history, and IT Monsters has deconstructed the logoform, as shown in the graphic below.

Simple in its form, this rebrand reused the elements of the main logo well as patterns in different touchpoints of the brand refresh.
